The 2007 summer blockbuster movie season looks like it might just go down as the biggest, most fantastically amazing, unbelievably awesome, coolest and best movie season in the history of movies. With sure-fire hits like Spider-Man 3, Shrek 3, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Harry Potter whatever and Transformers, it looks like 2007 will definitely bring in the big dollars. It’s important to point out that all of those movies and all of the money they will make aren’t just the exclusive domain of the big screen.

You can bet that as soon as those movies are released, and maybe even before hand, that the cross-promotional marketing will begin. You’ll be bombarded with requests and orders to download the hit theme song from each movie onto your Apple iPod Nano. Of course, you’ll also have to play the official video game on your Xbox 360. If you just can’t take the time to sit at home and play, you can enjoy the Sony PSP version of the movie game. And for those people who simply can’t wait, they can download the movie trailer and watch it on the Digital camcorder feature of their phone.

Even though all these movies will be playing in theaters, people are simply going to see advertising and marketing for them wherever they go. Whatever it is that you are hooked up to, you can and will be reached with commercials and information. If you are always plugged into your iPod, you won’t be immune to any movie marketing mayhem. If you visit your favorite store or refurbished electronics retailer looking for the hottest game for your Xbox 360, you’ll see posters promoting the official video game of the movie all over the store. Today’s technology aren’t just vehicles for entertainment, they also serve as potential locations to reach target customers. Now, being subjected to all these advertisements and media messages are one thing, but reacting to them altogether is a subject best saved for another day.

There are many fantastic games that have developed for the Sony Playstation, the Microsoft Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Sony Playstation Portable. From great sporting titles to whimsical fantasy games to rough & tumble army games, there have been some great video games released over the years. As well as the games, some of the music of today’s video games are so well done, they belong on an iPod Nano, rather than in a video game.

One of my favorite video games of all time is a small, not-to-well known game that has all of the important elements that make for a quality video game in spades: interesting characters, challenging game play, humor, suspense and an absolutely breathtaking and magical musical score that I’m still looking to download onto my iPod Nano: the game is Medievil, which was designed and developed for the original Playstation and is now available for the Sony PSP.

Medievil is both challenging and addictive. As the main character, you are Sir Daniel Fortesque, and you’re dead. Yet, on the Sony PSP, you come back to life to once again vanquish the forces of evil. It’s a simple premise that has been seen and played on many video game platforms, from Nintendo to the Microsoft Xbox 360. However, on the Sony Playstation and the PSP, it is a great looking game that’s fun to play.

This video game really has it all. The music, which is definitely iPod Nano worthy, is never boring, repetitive or dull. Each part of the soundtrack corresponds beautifully with each unique level and area of the game, so that rather than playing a video game, you feel like your actually watching a spooky, scary and gothic movie – with you as the star! The graphics are incredible, and the voiceover work is some of the best and funniest that’s ever been developed for the Sony Playstation Portable.

There are lots of games that get tons of marketing and publicity thrown behind them. And, for the most part, the attention is well deserved, as the more popular games are often some of the best and most innovative titles ever created. Sometimes, a smaller game gets released that becomes a total and must-have game. For me, Sony really hit a home run by releasing Medievil, and now that’s it’s available on the Sony PSP, it’s even better than ever!
