If an old printer has broken or simply doesn’t suit the needs of casual use or a small home office, then it’s time to consider a new printer. It’s sometimes difficult to decide what type of printer to buy, though, due to the wide selection of printer types and brands. One to consider for the house office or simple home use is the HP Color LaserJet CP1515n printer with CP1515n laser toner.

Everyone knows that ink cartridges are going to be expensive, so whatever brand of printer is purchased; expect to pay quite a bit of cash whenever the cartridges need to be replaced. That shouldn’t discourage anyone from buying a particular printer, since ink prices aren’t terribly competitive.

One important number to keep in mind while shopping for a printer is the amount of printing you expect to do on a monthly basis. Compare that to the potential printer’s recommended volume figure, a new and more realistic statistic about how much work a printer can be expected to do over the course of a month. The other figure about potential printing limits, called the duty cycle, is well-known as being particularly worthless to the average consumer, since it doesn’t reflect real-world usage or take into account the amount of times paper would have to be refilled or ink replaced.

HP’s CP1515n can reliably handle between 250 and 1000 pages per month, according to the HP’s specifications sheet, as its recommended monthly page volume. The duty cycle is typically an absurdly high number, but the page volume is a far more realistic figure, considering the intended uses of the printer.

Some numbers that factor into the recommended monthly volume and are good to consider independently are the printing speed and the ink cartridge capacity. For printing speed, the CP151n can print up to twelve pages of black and white materials per minute or up to eight pages of color work. 150 sheets of paper fit into the input tray and its output tray holds about 125 pages. It’s not a high volume printer by any means, but would be useful in a variety of settings.

Ink cartridge capacity is also a factor in deciding whether a particular printer suits a user’s needs. If a printer cartridge has to be replaced frequently, then a printer with a larger intended volume should probably replace it. The cartridges for the CP1515n printer produce approximately 750 pages of color as well as 750 pages of black and white printing.

Even reviewers who find fault with the overall product, since the products like a HP Color LaserJet CP1515n printer make use of the HP ColorSphere technology, have lauded the image quality of the newer HP models. HP ink and toner has really changed the text and color quality of the materials it produces for the better.

The software that comes bundled with the HP Color LaserJet CP1515n printer gives a pretty good idea of what the printer is capable of, so it’s at least worth an initial install. It probably won’t see continued use, as very little bundled printer software does, but the HP Marketing Resources package can help with some sophisticated advertising materials. You will also need some HP Color LaserJet CP1515n replacement toners. If you purchase your HP Color LaserJet printer toner online, you may be able to save money on your laser toner cartridges.
