Have Printing Be A Picnic With The Simple Lexmark Z22 Printer And Compatible Toner
Most will be happy to simply have a printer that will spit out prints that look good without hassle. If you are like these people, then maybe you would be happy with a Lexmark Z22 using Lexmark Z22 ink. If you are not, you are probably a business owner who needs a laser printer to meet demands. If you are a casual user and can still find this printer used or refurbished, however, this may be a decent choice for you.
This printer was usually liked by those who purchased it. Many wrote reviews that they were happy with the set up and print quality of the printer. Some of the better qualities most frequently mentioned was the reasonable price, ease of use, and decent color prints using Lexmark ink. You should recognize that this is an older printer made for older computers, so if you have Windows XP you will have to download a driver from Lexmark’s website. If you have Vista, I’m not positive this printer will work for you.
When you purchase a printer like this, one of your highest considerations will be its price – especially since you are probably looking at it used or refurbished if you are buying it now. If you do come across this opportunity, this will want to be a big factor into your decision. Also make sure you are comfortable with the used product or buying refurbished machines in general. The good news is that Lexmark Z22 ink is still available (at around forty bucks).
The reason why I emphasized that only casual users will want to use this printer is mostly because of its speed. It only prints 6.5 pages per minute in black and white, and even fewer in color. A higher volume user will want a faster Inkjet printer (or will want the faster and fancier laser printers instead). If you are simply printing out small documents and letters, for example, then this printer may more than suite your needs.
Another thing to consider before committing to this printer is the fact that it uses two types of Z22 printer ink: one for normal color pages and one for printed photos. Since it only has space to install one color cartridge at a time, you will need to switch them back and forth as your color needs change.
You will also want to know what it can do for you, and if that matches what you need from it. It will take paper as small as 3 by 5 inches, and as large as 8.5 by 17 inches. It holds one hundred sheets of paper at a time, and twenty pages of photo paper and ten envelopes. This printer can interface with your computer by either a parallel or USB cord.
As for Lexmark itself, the company itself is well respected as a manufacturer of computer peripherals. In fact, Fortune magazine listed it as number five in its list of the most admired companies of its kind. It now has grown to such a point that it makes about five billion dollars in revenue a year.
You should expect the Lexmark Z22 cartridge to cost about forty dollars or so and to be available from online ink distributors. The machine is a great bargain used or refurbished if you haven’t got one already. Add Lexmark compatible printer ink and go print!
